Stanley Cup Preview

Seriously how glorious is it that the Blackhawks are the favorite?  It's not often a team wins the Stanley Cup as an underdog and then returns two seasons later, only to still be an underdog.  The Bruins have gotta be salivating at the opportunity to continue showing the world just how good they are.  Seriously, ever since the epic comeback against the Maple Leafs this team has been on cruise control just plowing through everything in its path.  Rangers? Laughable. Penguins? They looked like real life Penguins trying to play hockey.  Now the B's try to make the Blackhawks look like Indians trying to play hockey.

There's two big story-lines in this series.  The first being the fact it's the first time since 1979 (I think) that two original six teams have faced off against each other.  The other being, of course, the impending conclusion to a historic playoff run in a city that is still recovering from a horrible tragedy.  I'm not expecting this series to be nearly as easy as the last two were, but I'm confident the Bruins will win and I like them to do it in 6 games.  David Krejci will be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy and Zdeno Chara will be the first to hoist the Cup in front of 35,000 screaming massholes at the Gahden.  And when it's all said and done, Boylston Street will be shut down yet again, with a duckboat caravan holding the team that restored the city.  Just like Barry Obama had predicted.

Skip video to about 1:25. Or just be a Patriot and watch it all.
